时间:2014年10月12日 上午9:30-11:00I will discuss how cavity electro-optic modulators can enable efficient microwave photonics operations, including coherent conversion between microwave and optical signals, laser cooling of a microwave resonator, and electro-optic parametric amplification, by exploiting the analogy between electro-optic modulation and optomechanics.

Mankei Tsang obtained his B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2002 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He held postdoctoral appointments with Seth Lloyd and Jeffrey Shapiro at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Carlton Caves at the University of New Mexico, before receiving the Singapore National Research Foundation Fellowship in 2011. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore, with joint appointments at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Physics. His research interests include quantum measurement theory, quantum control, quantum information, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, and nano-optics.
