Abstract：Oneofthegrandscientificchallengesofthe21stcenturyistobeabletocontrolchemicalreactionpathwaysforspecificresults(themodernalchemy).Beforethiscanhappen,experimentaltoolsmustbedevelopedtoenablescientiststofollowthechangeofthemoleculesattheirownnaturaltimescale---typicallyafewfemtoseconds,andthepositionsoftheconstituentatoms--atsub-Angstromresolutions.InthistalkIwilldiscussthreedifferentmethodsbasedontechnologythatisnearlyoralreadyavailablewhereonecanfilmthemovementofatomsinadynamicallyevolvingmolecule.Themethodsareallbasedonelectrondiffraction,whereelectronsareeithergeneratedbyX-rayfree-electronlasers(XFEL),orbyrescatteringelectronsgeneratedbymid-infraredlasers.
